Claude's Apple Health integration is US-only. A connector isn't.

In January 2026, Anthropic gave Claude an Apple Health integration. If you tried it from the UK, Europe or Canada, you already know the catch: Anthropic's help center says its health features are in beta, on Pro and Max, and "available in the US only". And it is switched on from the Claude iPhone app.

There is a second way in that has none of those limits: a custom connector. It works in every country Claude does, on every plan including Free, and it is set up from a computer, then follows your account into every Claude app.

Integration or connector: the difference

Built-in Apple Health integrationCustom connector (HealthSync)

For workouts, Anthropic's help page lists type, duration, distance, heart rate data and calories. HealthSync sends each workout whole: laps and reps, heart rate second by second, pace and power, stride length and ground contact time, the legs and transitions of a triathlon, and the GPS route. Plus the daily numbers: resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep and VO2 max.

Connecting it from anywhere

  1. On a computer, once. In claude.ai or Claude Desktop, open Settings, then Customize, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the address https://api.gethealthsync.ai/mcp.
  2. Approve from your iPhone. Claude opens a HealthSync page with a QR code and a short code. Scan it, and the HealthSync app, already signed in with Apple, approves. No password.
  3. Ask. The connector then follows your Claude account: it is there in the iPhone app and in Claude Code too, without doing anything again.

The guide for Claude has every screen, and the one for Claude Code the single command it takes in a terminal.

What you can ask

Anything that needs more than one workout at a time. Here is Claude looking back over my last four weeks, from France:

Which of my last four weeks was the biggest?

healthsync · list_workouts 2026-09-14 → 2026-10-11 · 4 weeks

The week of September 21, by far: 6 h 17 of training against 2 h 47 to 3 h 16 in the other three. The difference is the bike: 3 h 41 that week, for the Ventoux Gravel Classic, against 38 minutes at most in the others, the triathlon's bike leg included. Running stayed between 1 h 54 and 3 h 00 a week throughout, and this week is your biggest running week of the four, at 3 h 00 with two days still to go.

It added up four weeks of runs, rides and a triathlon, kept the sports apart, and noticed that the week wasn't over. That is the kind of question a screenshot of the Fitness app can't answer.

If you're in the US

Try the built-in integration first if you're on Pro or Max: it comes with your plan. If you want the reps of an interval session, the legs of a triathlon or the GPS route of a ride, that is what the connector adds.

HealthSync is free to sync. Reading heart rate and more than the last 30 days takes Pro, at €6.99 a month after a 14-day trial. Your workouts are stored in Paris, under the GDPR, and you can revoke Claude's access from the app at any time.
